In general, 90 percent of allergic reactions consist of several types such as allergy milk, eggs, peanuts, seafood, soy and wheat. But in between, there are also people who have allergies are not uncommon.
Here’s his review, as quoted by LiveScience, Wednesday (01/03/2017):
1. Allergy of Semen
The strangest allergies are quite prevalent in males. Dutch researchers reported two cases postorgasmic disease syndrome (pain after orgasm) in the January issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
In both cases, people experience allergic symptoms around the eyes and nose, and flu-like illness in a matter of seconds, minutes or hours after sex, masturbation or spontaneous ejaculation. Once reviewed, they turned out to be allergic to their own semen.
Allergies they finally treated with hyposensitization therapy, injections with a small amount of allergen.
Allergy to beef is also strange. According to a case study published in the Journal of Investigational Allergology and Clinical Immunology, a man who does not have a clear history of allergies suffer two allergic reactions due to beef.
The first allergy cases come after eating sirloin steak, and others – a few days later, allergic reaction after eating a hamburger from beef. After following allergy tests, he proved to have an allergy to beef, pork, lamb and rabbit meat, but not the cat’s fur, horse meat, mites, soy or cow’s milk, the study said.
3. Allergy of Female Hormones
It is quite common when there are women who complain of acne before or after the menstrual cycle. But the small number of women is suffering from a condition called autoimmune progesterone dermatitis (APD), a skin disorder which is exacerbated by hypersensitivity progesterone during the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle – that happened after ovulation.
APD typically occurs when a woman gets older and infrequently during pregnancy or post-menopause.
A typical case is reported in the European Journal of Dermatology in 2002 said that a 27-year woman was admitted to the clinic because of itching of the face starts about three days before menstruation and disappear within seven days.
Once diagnosed by a skin test, the woman showed that progesterone causes redness and swelling within 30 minutes.
4. Allergy of Water
Yes, there are some people who are allergic to water. Imagine, this water is one of the substances most in the world, including in our own bodies. But in individuals with the condition known as urticaria aquagenic, they often experience severe itching due to sea water, tap or just temperature.
5. Allergy of Saline
Especially a salt solution (sodium chloride) and water. These substances are considered dangerous for people who have allergies.
In the case reported in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine in 2009, a 37-year-old Turkish woman develops an anaphylactic reaction because of the infusion, and he is being treated for acute abdominal pain.
6. Allergy of Fishing
In one case, a 58-year amateur fishers complain of swelling and itching of the face and body every time he went fishing in freshwater.
Symptoms will appear about three hours after he started fishing, but sometimes it will not appear for six or eight hours after he returned home.
7. Allergies of Pancakes
A man 19 years of suffering from anaphylactic shock and died after eating pancakes that had been left open in a closet for about two years.
According to the 2001 study, cases were published in the American Journal of Forensic Medicine and Pathology, he has a history of multiple allergies, including fungi and penicillin.
Responding to complaints from two friends who say stale pancakes tasted like “alcohol”, he then eats two pancakes for breakfast and experiencing shortness of breath afterwards.
He underwent cyanotic (he was blue from lack of oxygen) on the way to the clinic and died while still in transit.
